ETF Capital Management (ETFCM) sits at the intersection of the two most important trends in the
industry: Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) based investing, and active global portfolio management.
Investors have no returns from “buy and hold” strategies, and have identified the need to protect
capital in down markets, while also optimizing their up-market capture. ETFCM achieves this rare
balance with a dynamic Global Macro management process that tactically over/under weights
countries; sectors; and asset classes. Making full use of the efficiencies ETFs afford us,
ETFCM actively adapts portfolios in response to today’s rapidly changing market conditions.
ETFCM’s Separately Managed Account (SMA) program provides Clients with core portfolio
strategies that are tailored to individual needs and risk tolerance. Our platform gives Clients
absolute confidence in the safety and security of their assets, while providing full transparency
through real-time online access to view account holdings, detailed quarterly reporting,
comprehensive annual tax reporting, and weekly market publications.

Larry Berman CFA, CMT, CTA
Larry Berman has been one of Canada’s foremost experts in the field of ETF investing since he started working with them in 2002 as CIBC World Market’s Chief Technical Strategist. Frustrated with how slow the investment industry had been to embrace ETFs, Larry seized
the opportunity to found ETF Capital Management and become a leader in applying active portfolio management techniques to ETF investing.
Larry is renowned for his unique active management style which fuses technical and quantitative analysis with fundamental and macro economic factors. Larry has twenty years of industry experience; having been consistently ranked as one of Canada’s “Top 3 Analysts”
according to institutional investor surveys.
Complementing his formal background in economics, Larry has earned designations as Chartered Market Technician (CMT), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), US registered Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA), and is currently the President of the Market Technician’s Association (MTA).
Larry is author and contributor to several textbooks and (quite literally) wrote the book on technical analysis for the Canadian Securities
Institute (CSI). To learn more about Larry please visit www.etfcm.com or tune into his television show, Berman’s Call, every Monday at 11:30am (EST) on The Business News Network (BNN).
